4 Benefits of Whey Protein for Weight Loss

Lower Cholesterol: The British Journal of Nutrition published a study that showed a significant decrease in total cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol in week 12 of the study, when compared to the casein group.
Asthma:  A study published by the International Journal of Food Science and Nutrition found that children with asthma had improved cykokine response when supplemented with whey for one month.
Heart Health: The International Dairy Journal showed that blood pressure was reduced with patients with hypertension, when beverages were supplemented with whey protein.  This resulted in their risk of stroke and heart disease being lowered.

Don't Forget to Eat!

The Secret to Losing Weight...ONCE AND FOR ALL!


Most people say that losing weight is challenging.  Well...you know, that is what I always thought until I was able to lose those extra pounds by concentrating on alkalizing my body, not just counting calories.  Everybody knows that to lose weight you have to eat fruits and vegetables, however when you concentrate on alkalizing your body, you will finally once and for all achieve the results you have been striving for.  There is an old saying...You are what you eat.  I am happy I finally learned exactly what that meant.  The results? Clean Out Your Pantry!

Love Your Body!


Many of us look in the mirror everyday and find ways to criticize our bodies. Do you hear yourself saying things like, "my stomach is too big" or "my thighs are too fat"?  I understand that we have been raised in a critical world, surrounded by Sports Illustrated, and Victoria Secret models who are thin, beautiful, and built. But tomorrow morning, and every morning going forward, when you look at your self in the mirror, say to yourself, "I am beautiful", "I am perfect health", and "I am unlimited".  When you tell yourself, and your body, that you love it right now, even though you are not where you want to be, think how much more you will love you will feel towards your body when you have reached your weight loss goal.  And maybe along the way, even if you don't reach the weight loss goal you have set for yourself, you choose to let your body decide what weight is the most healthy for you.  We all need love, and the first place to start is loving yourself, and the good news is that it has been shown that positive expectations are also associated with weight loss.

Remembering 9/11



September 11, 2011 is a day that Americans will never forget.  Do you remember where you were and what you were doing when the planes hit the twin towers?  I do.  I also remember having brunch at Windows on the World restaurant for my 16th birthday.  My family and I drove into NYC, we were living in New Jersey at the time, to celebrate my birthday.  I remember the view from the restaurant, and I also remember how you could feel the tower swaying.  Needless to say it was a very disconcerting feeling.

What I struggle to understand is how we seem to come together as Americans only after tragedy strikes.  There seems to be so much hate, and anger in Americans lately.  Anger at the government, hate towards other Americans of a different color, police officers and even outright murder because of that hate.  How did it all get so ugly?

We have to learn how to love each other again.  Haven't we seen that a war on anything doesn't work.  The war on drugs, the war on poverty have all failed miserably.  Why can't we try a love of abundance, and a love of a drug free world and drug free families.

Isn't it time to try something different?  Remember the famous quote by Albert Einstein who said, " Insanity:  doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Let's strive for love! A love of everyone, and everything and let's stand in awe and wonder to see how this world changes.

Happy Labor Day!

Just some personal thoughts about this day we set aside to celebrate not only people who work, but the ones that don't as well.  Labor Day brings to mind how hard work built this great country of ours.  Work is good for the soul, as it brings purpose and accomplishment to our lives when we complete a workday to the best of our ability.

There are people in this country that do not work, and I am not talking about being unemployed....I am talking about not working by choice.  There are so many opportunities to generate income, I guess I don't understand how people can choose to be either in poverty, or getting federal benefits for years when the opportunities to make money are all around us.
